To help the government bridge the fiscal deficit through enhanced collection of revenue, the National Treasury
recently proposed Tax Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the Tax Procedures (Amendment) Bill, 2024 which was signed into Law following the President assent on 11 December 2024. Notably most of the proposals that were
dropped in the Finance Bill 2024 were reintroduced in this Amendments.
The effective date of the all the amendments is 27
December 2024.
